You guys have probably heard about the Punk Goes Pop album already. It's basically an album wherein some punk/rock bands remade some the most popular pop songs. The first album was released in 2001 and it was followed this year 2009. There are also albums of Punk Goes 80s, 90s and Crunk. I had been listening to these albums for months now and I can't help sharing it with you guys.
If you want to listen to the songs in the album just click here for the Punk Goes Pop 2001 and here for Punk Goes Pop 2009. I also uploaded some of the songs in my Multiply Account. Listen to it. You'd love them. I swear. XD
Ryoga = A character in the anime Ranma 1/2. He's basically the type of guy that has zero sense of direction. Always late, always lost. XD
I went to SM Megamall last Monday to celebrate the birthdays of two of my dearest friends: ma-chan and ri-chan's. They treated us with a box pizza and some drinks from Bubble Tea (i love bubble tea). Then we dropped by at Comic Alley 'cause Shao had to buy something then we had our group picture taken after that.I had so much fun that day. I haven't seen the whole ryoga clan for years until May 25th came. Hehe.. Ma-chan, ri-chan, thank you for inviting me. Anyway, speaking of Bubble Tea, I really love the place so I'm gonna recommend it to you guys. It's basically located on the Lower Ground Floor in SM Megamall near the Ice Skating Rink. It also has a branch in The Block, SM North Edsa. Their specialties are milk teas and milkshakes. The teas there are so good, you guys should definitely try it.
I had been unproductive for the passed couple of months and I despise myself for it. I want to study for the coming board exams but my brain keeps on rejecting what I read whenever I attempt to do so. Watch dvds, eat, surf the net, dilly-dally.. those are all that I had been doing lately. I thought that maybe I could write or draw but I don't get to finish anything that I started. I guess I'm lacking inspiration or determination and I don't know where I can actually get it from. *sighs* I hope that I can get out of this stagnation really soon. XC
I graduated from my course BSN Nursing last April 5, 2009. It had been only more than a month since then and to be totally honest with you, I’m still having a hard time adjusting to this graduate status. And since I miss school so much I decided to enumerate the 7 things I miss the most about college. Here they are in no particular order:
THE DAILY LONG QUIZZES
Aside from a weekly examination, we usually have this super long post-quiz everyday. It may sound unbelievable but I really like having those tests because it keeps my head working.
THE COLLEGE INTRAMURALS
It’s only during intramurals when our whole batch is truly united. Disputes are forgotten and the students are really working together so that we can be victorious over the other teams. There’s the joyous cheering competition wherein some students (including me) pretend to be cheerleaders (It’s not as if I have other choices. One of my closest friend choreographs the dance and poor me always get drag into joining the dancers. Argh!). The hyper basketball games, badminton matches, and volleyball league. Board games, patintero, sack race, sipa… We cheered ‘til we ran out of voices. I really love the intramurals. XD
THE EGG SANDWICH FROM THE VEGETARIAN CAFETERIA
Since I always wake up late for school, I often miss breakfast. My quick solution, buy an egg sandwich from the vegetarian cafeteria and secretly eat it during class. I really like the taste of the mixed mayonnaise and egg in between two soft and freshly baked wheat breads. Eating that sandwich is like my daily morning ritual.
EATING LUNCH IN CLASSROOM X WITH THE BARKADA
Despite the fact that I and my peers belong to different sections, we still find time to eat together during lunch. Some of us pack lunch from home while some just buy something to eat outside the campus and then bring it to a particular classroom wherein we can eat together. Ah, those good old times. XP
THE BATCH OUTINGS/ACTIVITIES
Out of town annual youth camps, the Baguio trip, Christmas parties, week or prayer, psych party, medical missions, community immersions, camping, seminars and graded interviews. Those are just some of the activities that we had in college. I really cherish those activities because through those I met a lot of people and made a ton of friends.
TAKING DOWN NOTES (or pretending to be taking down notes) DURING LECTURES
Since we always have post-quizzes I have no choice but to take down notes from our lectures. But since my attention span isn’t really that long I often end up drawing in my notebook instead of focusing on the lectures. In fact most of my best drawings were done made during class. At the end of the day I just pretend that I am taking down notes since I am often seated beside the class’ center aisle and I don’t want to let our lecturer know that I ain’t paying attention at all. Ahehe…
AFFILIATION DUTIES
Let’s see… we affiliated in the Philippine Orthopedic Center, Anawim (a home for the aged), San Lazaro Hospital, National Center of Mental Health (ah, home sweet home. XP), and several lying-in clinics and maternity hospitals. I had much bonding with my friends and blockmates during those duties and gained some experiencse too. I was also inspired with the stories of some of my patients during those duties. One thing that I learned and often remember during those times is that life is really hard, but it’s still good.
So these are the 7 things I miss the most about College. And if given an opportunity I’d like to experience all of these again.
