The NAIC Fever
For a couple of weeks I've been forced to leave the comforts of home and spend some very nagging days at Brgy. Munting Mapino Naic, Cavite. It was part of the school's curriculum for this summer and so I had no choice but to participate in what we nursing students call community immersion. Ah yes... no tv, no internet, I couldn't get a decent bath because the water there kinda smells and worst of all I was constipated for days! Raawr!
Despite of the sleepless nights and migraine that I got due to the activities, quizzes and paper works, I did had fun at Naic. I got to know new people and breathe fresh air. Some of my favortie moments in the immersion was when I and my blockmates held our assemblies 'cause not only were we doing our requirements then but also helping out a lot of people. We had our health teachings and right after the assemblies, fed the children and some of the adults in the community.
Another great and unforgettable moment was when we had our tree planting (although I didn't felt like I did much help in that activity) somewhere on the sides of the highway directing to the community. Another experience was when we held a sunrise worship at the shore. We had to walk a few kilometers to get to the area where we were supposed to have our worship with an empty stomach and man, my sole hurted because I accidentally stepped on this sharp rock that day. Argh! We also had a small program to showcase our talents during the last night of our stay at Naic.
To end it all up let me just say that our Naic community immersion is definitely one of the most unforgettable events in my college life.
